{busy bee needs a cupcake}

Ahhhh...I am having one of those weeks. I am a middle school teacher and the end is always the worse part. I told my honey that after this week my school year is going to be "over". I have so much to do the next couple of days...award ceremonies, lots of paper work, reviews, final exams and the list keeps on going. Then, when I get home life continues and I barely have energy to keep up.

So what do I do then? Well I...

I need a glass of wine and of course a yummy cupcake!

And if they are pink with girly decorations, well lets just say that's perfect! Not only do they satisfy my craving, but also my soul!

 Hope you are having a more relaxed week my sweet friends!

{cheers...with a pineapple flirtini}

I came across this drink the other day and thought it would be a good idea to share it with all of you. I am a wine girl but it's good to spice things up, from time to time, with a good cocktail. This Pineapple Flirtini looks so yummy and refreshing!

Here in Miami summer has arrived earlier as usual so I can't wait to drink this "martini with a twist" by the pool. Also, I know what I'm ordering tonight! We are celebrating a friend's birthday at a very popular Irish Pub...and I don't like beer :-)

It's Friday! Do we need a better excuse to try it?!? Enjoy it!

Pineapple Flirtini
Ingredients for 1 serving:

1/2 oz. vodka
1/2 oz. Cointreau or Triple Sec Liqueur
1 oz. pineapple juice
2 pieces of fresh pineapple
3 oz. champagne

Directions:

1. Muddle the pineapple pieces and the Cointreau in the bottom of a mixing glass.
2. Add vodka and juice and stir with ice.
3. Strain into a chilled Martini glass.
4. Top with Champagne.
5. Garnish with a cherry.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend my sweet friends! Cheers!!!

{wine for the soul}

Wine to me is passion. It's family and friends. It's warmth of heart and generosity of spirit." -Robert Mondavi-

What’s a girl to do after a stressful day at work? Well, have some wine and relax…

Today was a very busy day at work. For those of you who don’t know, I am a middle school teacher. At this point in the school year, the kids are tired and so are we. Now comes the final stretch, the hardest one…

There is nothing like coming home and lounging on the couch with a glass of wine. Time to “wine” down! Today I’m having a Fume Blanc. Very smooth and refreshing, perfect for a spring afternoon in Miami!
