{happy & romantic weekend}

After many weekends of having a million things to do, my honey and I are finally going to have a nice relaxing weekend. I am so looking forward to watching movies in bed, drinking some wine while sitting in our patio...spending time together.

And don't forget, tomorrow is the Kentucky Derby! Ahhh, those fabulous hats and dresses...can't wait!

Happy Friday my sweet friends. Hope you all have a fab weekend.

 Cheers!

{pink and green thursday baby style}

Let's play again Pink and Green Thursday with Trish!

Today my inspiration comes from a dear friend of mine. She recently had her first baby girl (cute as a button) and decorated the nursery using these two colors. She actually likes the brighter version of those colors so she used hot pink and lime.

Today my blog entry is dedicated to my wonderful friend Vane!

I saved the best for last (at least in my opinion). I like the softer tones (muted as my friend calls it). Around six months ago I saw this set and fell in love! My dream is to have a baby girl, I am convinced that I will and so is my hubby by now, so the day I have Isabella (yes that is going to be her name) this is going to be her bedding set -if they still make it of course- in her shabby chic room.

Happy Thursday!

{don't cry for me argentina...}

... because here we come!

My hubby and I just book our trip to Argentina!

I am so excited...I can't wait! We are going the week of Thanksgiving. I know, I know, we are not going to be with the family but we need to take advantage of the days that we have off. For a very long time I've been wanting to go there but have always ended up going somewhere else instead. This time we decided to book it long in advance so we don't change our minds.

I am so looking forward to the wine and the food I couldn't begin to tell you! I have read so many articles today about restaurants and places to visit there...We are planning on driving to Igauzu where the Iguazu Falls are. They say it's impressive and a must see!

Here are some photos I found today while looking for info (soon I'll have my own pictures to share...can't wait!)

{inspiration: gallery walls}

I am planning on making a gallery wall in my family room. I have been thinking about it for a while. The idea came to me because I don't know what to do with my engagement portrait. It's a canvas picture framed in a very thick contemporary looking frame. It's a huge picture, 20x24. At the time it seemed like a great idea, now we don't know what to do with it. So, we have decided to put it up in the family room along with other family and friends photos.

The walls in that room are painted dark brown. It's the "manly room" in the house. It is intended to be my hubby's room. Somehow, some flowery patterns have made their way over there, but mainly, it's a more masculine room.

I've been buying frames for the past month. I want a uniform/eclectic look, if that makes sense at all. I'm keeping it uniform by only using brown frames. Now, the styles are all different.

I promise some pictures when the project is completed! For now, here are some inspiration pictures.

And Happy Monday!

{pink and green thursday it is...}

This is the first time I'm going to participate in "Pink and Green Thursday" hosted by Trish (http://www.pinkpreppylillylover.blogspot.com/). Seeing all her pictures I feel like a little girl in a candy store. After all, what are pictures of pink and green things for a girly girl? It's eye candy!

Today I'm going to keep it simple. Today, I'm concentrating on just flower arrangements and table settings. Now that the spring is here, we all need a little inspiration for those girl afternoons and little parties here and there.

Hope you enjoy it!

This one minus the eggs...beautiful for next Easter though!

How gorgeous is this floral arrangement?!?!

{butterflies in my heart}

I absolutely love butterflies! They are so beautiful. Since I was little, they’ve always had a special place in my heart. When I think of butterflies, I think of flowers, freedom, being girly…

One of the things I love the most about my house is that I’ve seen a butterfly in my back yard practically every single day since we bought it 2 ½ years ago.

{wine for the soul}

Wine to me is passion. It's family and friends. It's warmth of heart and generosity of spirit." -Robert Mondavi-

What’s a girl to do after a stressful day at work? Well, have some wine and relax…

Today was a very busy day at work. For those of you who don’t know, I am a middle school teacher. At this point in the school year, the kids are tired and so are we. Now comes the final stretch, the hardest one…

There is nothing like coming home and lounging on the couch with a glass of wine. Time to “wine” down! Today I’m having a Fume Blanc. Very smooth and refreshing, perfect for a spring afternoon in Miami!
